Fee Schedule
The follow fee schedules and policies apply to Capitol Division tournaments hosted tournaments. Tournaments sanctioned by the Capitol Division but run by individual clubs are not subject to these policies.
REGISTRATION AND EVENT FEES
Registration fees will be $10.00.
Event fees for those who register on AskFRED will be $40.00. ALL FEES MUST BE PAID ON AskFRED.net before the registration deadline of one week before the event.
Event fees for those who have not registered on AskFRED will be $80.00 plus the $10.00 registration fee, a total of $90.00.
Fencers who participate in more than one event will pay only one registration fee per competition but must pay the event fee for each event.
Any qualifying event (such as the Junior Olympics and the Summer Nationals) where the fencer shows up and the event is not competed, only the registration fee will be waived.
REFEREE, MEET MANAGER, AND REFEREE WRANGLER FEES
Referee Pay Policies
Referees working at Capitol Division events will be paid based on their referee rating using the following schedule:
N1-N2: $200.00
R1-R2: $175.00
L1-L2: $150.00
P: $125.00
None: $100.00
Referees who officiate for at least a full event will be paid a full day’s stipend.
Referees who officiate for a partial event will be paid a partial to full day’s stipend at the discretion of the Meet Manager.
No Referee will receive more than a full day’s stipend per day, no matter how many events are worked.
Fencers who referee may be compensated at the discretion of the Meet Manager.
Fencers who are recruited by the meet manager to increase the strength of the event may have their event fee waived at the discretion of the meet manager.
Pay Policies for Other Officials
Meet managers and referee “wranglers” who recruit and organize Capitol Division tournaments will be paid flat rates as follows:
Meet Manager: $200.00/day
Referee “Wrangler”: $75.00 per competition
Meet Managers who referee and manage the event will be paid only for managing the meet.
Travel Expenses
Capitol Division will hire local referees whenever possible and attempt to give newly rated referees experience refereeing local tournaments. In the event it is necessary to go beyond a ten (10) mile radius to recruit referees, travel reimbursement is to be based on the following:
The allowable round-trip mileage is calculated based on the distance between the referee’s home and the fencing venue minus 20 miles;
The reimbursement rate per mile is the IRS reimbursement rate;
Reimbursement is rounded to the nearest $5.00;
Reimbursement for expenses is not to exceed $200 per tournament.
No expenses are to be provided for lodging for local events.
