2023-2024 - Erica Wang
Erica Wang began fencing in fall 2023, and since then has become one of the club's most dependable members. Between her work as current treasurer and her impressive tournament performance so far, from placing at CHAOS to doing so again at BWCFC Championships, Erica's role on the team is invaluable. Erica aims to further improve her skills in fencing in the following years and hopefully be able to receive a rating within that timeframe as well.
2022-2023 - Brian Falvey
Brian Falvey started fencing when he joined the club in the fall 2021 semester. While that season had been substantially reduced in scope due to covid, he participated in as many events as he could. This includes BWCFC where he helped the school come in first place overall at Champs. He has also been invested in club leadership and assumed the role of treasurer after only a year with the team. We look forward to seeing how his skill will improve and help change the team for the better over the coming years.
2019-2020 - Sean Fitzgerald
Sean Fitzgerald started fencing in 2017 and joined UMD fencing in 2018. He has competed in Chaos, BWCFC, MACFA and the Temple Open and will continue to compete for the club. He hopes to start competing in regional tournaments and earn his ranking.
2018-2019 - Fatemeh Paryavi
Fatemeh Paryavi began fencing in 2015. Since then, she has competed regionally and earned her national rating. Shortly after, she found out about the UMD fencing club, and joined the club upon transferring from her local community college. Paryavi competed for the club at competitions such as Temple Open, BWCFC and CHAOS and hopes to compete in more competitions with the club.
2016-2017 - Benjamin Schaefer
Ben Schaefer began fencing recreationally at Rockville Fencing Academy in middle school and did not consider competing until he joined the University of Maryland Fencing Club as a freshman. He has competed at the Temple Open and BWCFC competitions and hopes to represent the club more in the future to pay them back for their hospitality and community.
2014-2015 - Jack Hiebner
Jack Hiebner began fencing at the University of Maryland, with no previous experience, at the start of his freshman year. He was able to compete in the competitive sabre squad in the BWCFC, MACFA, and USACFC conferences. Hiebner plans to return to the club during his next three or four years at Maryland, eager to help train new sabre members in addition to continuing his own sabre career.
2013-2014 - Nicholas Heath

This year in addition to continue to compete with the foil squad he has also assumed armoring responsibilities as well as a position of leadership as club treasurer.
2012-2013 - Duncan Enerson
Duncan Enerson fenced in middle school at the Baltimore Fencing Club - Columbia, picking the sport back up when he came to the University of Maryland. In his freshman year he competed with the epee squad at the Temple Open and in the BWCFC, MACFA, and USACFC conferences. This year he has assumed a leadership role on the Maryland Fencing Team as club treasurer and will be competing with the epee squad again as a sophomore.
